The Administrative Data Research Network was an ESRC-funded project that ran from October 2013 to July 2018. It is currently at the end of its funding cycle and is no longer taking applications. Administrative data research will be taken forward in a new project, which was launched at the end of 2018.

Security standards

The Network operated according to the principles of the “5 Safes of Data Sharing”, which are explained by this video created by the UK Data Service.

Safe environments

Researchers could only access the data in the secure facilities at one of our Administrative Data Research Centres, or in a secure environment specified by the data provider. They were not allowed to take any materials in or out of the rooms.
